The Hungalelti Washoe has been awarded funding under the California Conservation Corps (CCC), Tribal Nature-Based Solutions Program. We need to determine the level of interest among our NV and CA youth and young adults.

If you are between the ages of 16 and 26 (29 for veterans) and would be interested in an opportunity to earn a full-time salary and receive training and valuable certifications, (beginning in September 2023) please contact Councilman Cruz.

        Planned Training and Certifications:
CAL FIRE Wildland Firefighter Training

  • Arbor (Includes tree climbing, rope safety, knots, limbing)

  • First Aid & CPR (Includes Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certificate)

  • Heavy Equipment Safety and Operations

  • Chain Saw Training

  • Power Tools Safety & Operation

  • Chipper Safety Training

  • Trail Construction & Maintenance

  • Learn other skills as management 

  • Potential creation of 1) apprenticeship program and 2) opportunity to earn college credits
